Inheritance is the second poem in the series of English video poems, and it was never published before. It is a very personal rendition of feelings related to the loss of my mother, my own origins and my relationship to desire. This one is also directed by Cristiane Oliveira and with voice by Wayne. I think it is important to highlight that, different than my previous series of poems, these ones have a male voice, and that seems to add a different embodiment to my own sensibility on what the feminine can be.
Desirée Jung is a poet from Vancouver, Canada. She has published translations, poetry, and fiction in several magazines around the world. She has also participated in several artist residencies. Her education includes a film degree from Vancouver Film School, a BFA in Creative Writing, an MFA in Creative Writing and a PhD in Comparative Literature, all from the University of British Columbia. Writing, for her, is a hopeless attempt to capture light, in a constant desire for sunshine.
